Youth Development

Participating in Youth Development activities and services contributes to improved socio-emotional, health and wellbeing, education, and safety outcomes, as well as increased protections against negative outcomes throughout a young person’s lifetime. Research shows that meaningful youth engagement facilitated by youth leadership is an important part of successful youth development programs.

Youth Development Networks

DYD partners with community organizations across Los Angeles County to create a supportive ecosystem for young people to access free youth development programs and services in their own communities.

YDN partners provide a wide range of supports, from mentoring and creative outlets to leadership training, career preparation, and mental health resources. Together, they help young people build confidence, explore their passions, and develop skills that will serve them well into adulthood.
